In Remembrance

On Memorial Day, we remember all of those who have died in our nation's service.  To help remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed in December 2000, which asks that at 3 p.m. local time all Americans "voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence..." For more information about the history and meaning of Memorial Day, visit the Memorial Day website.

A heartfelt thank you to all who have served and died in our nation's service, and thanks to their families for their sacrifice.

I love this video, I posted it a couple of years ago. I thought I'd post it again for those of you who missed it. It features the incomparable Judy Garland singing Over the Rainbow at a filmed radio show performance for our troops in 1943. I hope you enjoy it and that it touches your heart the way it touches mine.

  1. Thanks for sharing that video. Loved it! The film clips intertwined with the song were wonderful. What hope there must have been when the war was declared at it's end!
